For Elysia and Mike’s engagement session, we explored a trail I had never been to before: El Camino del Cerro. Their session marked the first official day of Fall and we were loving the weather. To all of our surprise, we ended up having the entire trail to ourselves, too!
These two lovebirds live a very busy life right now! Elysia is in her fourth year of medical school and came to Tucson for her residency. Meanwhile, Mike is holding down the fort in their hometown of Reno, NV. Despite the long distance, Mike is able to come down about once a month to spend time with Elysia, refueling her to keep working hard at the hospital.
They initially met in college through a mutual friend, but really only met briefly. They ran into each other through the same mutual friend at a bar in Reno back in 2015. One of their common interests at the time was running, so, naturally, they agreed to do a half-marathon at Disneyland! And the rest was history!
When they have some free time together, Mike and Elysia enjoy playing all different types of video games. I couldn’t help but chat with them about the new Xbox Series X that was opening up for pre-order the next day. I love to geek out!
Elysia wore her favorite relaxed jean dress to their engagement session. Her favorite color is blue so, of course, she wanted her fiancé in blue, too! This was my first time photographing at the trail and Elysia and Mike’s first time visiting it. They like exploring different parks and trails within Tucson when they get the chance, so they were glad to add another option to their list.
Elysia had mentioned that one of her favorite things about Mike was that he was able to make her laugh without even trying. And she was right! His skills came in handy to get a beautiful, genuine smile from Elysia.
I mean, just look at that hiking view!
Snuggling up and getting close as the sun goes down.
Mike and Elysia, I had so much fun hanging out at El Camino del Cerro with you! I know that this is just one of several times you’ve had your relationship documented, so I hope that you love your Tucson session! My wish is that your wedding in Reno is just as fun as the two of you!
