When Anna and Jared booked me for their January wedding at Saguaro Buttes, they already had a date in mind for their engagement session. They currently live in Minnesota (brrr!), but come to Tucson to visit Anna’s family as often as they can. Anna and Jared are super outdoorsy and love to hike, climb, and camp. It was only fitting that their Saguaro National Park sunset session be in an area that they’ve spent lots of time together exploring.
Getting to Know Anna and Jared
Anna and Jared have already been on quite the journey in their 6 years together. They both moved from their home states to San Diego in 2015 for work. In the fall of that year they met and became friends. Later, they spent time abroad together furthering their education. Shortly after that, they left the beach life behind in California and moved to Minnesota close to Jared’s family. In early 2021, while Anna and Jared were climbing in the Cochise Stronghold southeast of Tucson, Jared proposed. He waited at the top to help secure Anna’s line and then, already down on one knee, popped the question.
Their Saguaro National Park Sunset Engagement Session
All of us were a tad worried about battling the heat in the desert. It seems that Arizona skipped Spring altogether and went straight into a sizzling Summer. Luckily, we had a constant breeze attempting to keep us cool. They wore perfectly coordinating light pink outfits, softly contrasting against the green of the desert. And Anna looked EXTRA stunning thanks to some professional hair and makeup from my girl Renee (Radiate with Renee J).
The sun started to dip behind the mountains pretty early on, but I love love love the soft glow it gave us!

Anna and Jared, I’m so glad that we were able to meet up while you were in Tucson visiting! I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that warm temperatures will be waiting to welcome you back in January!
