I was so excited when I got a message from Victoria wanting to set up a Kentucky engagement session for herself and Isaac. Victoria was referred to me by another amazing couple, Alex and Mark, who had the sweetest fall couples session at a local farm in Clarksville back in October. It was crazy to think that it had been almost a month since I had been behind my camera photographing my last wedding of 2018.
Taking time off these past few weeks to unplug and just focus on family time was fantastic! BUT anyone who knows me well knows that I can only be idle for so long until I start to drive myself crazy. My mom can definitely vouch for me on that! About one week into summer vacation from school while I was growing up, I would end up calling my mom at work telling her I was bored–begging for something to do. I was so eager to stay busy I would end up dusting ceiling fans and scrubbing walls. Yep–I was that desperate! Eventually I filled up my summers with Girl Scout camps, marching band, and summer English assignments (ok, I just really dialed up my nerdiness factor…anywho!). Now I’ve found something that will, without a doubt, take up any ounce of available free time I may have on my hands. And. I. LOVE IT!
With all of the greenery gone from all the trees around here, I wasn’t quite sure what locations to suggest to Victoria and Isaac, but they already had a place in mind! I get so excited when I get to explore a new location–especially when it’s somewhere memorable to my couples. And they seriously picked the BEST day. It sure didn’t feel like January outside. It was almost 60 degrees without a cloud to be seen for miles.
While Victoria and Isaac went to go change into their second outfits for their session, I got to take her beautiful engagement ring and show it some love. Detail time! P.S.- Bringing two outfits for your session is SUCH a great way to give you variety in your gallery!!! I’m pretty sure I squealed when they told me that had more outfits with them!
Who needs leaves everywhere?! And that light! This is why the timing of your session is something I can’t stress enough. Soft, glowy, evening light has my heart!
With all of my couples, I always ask them if they’d like some individual portraits. Hey, you’re all dressed up. Why not, right? Victoria had seen me do this for Alex and Mark’s session and was totally down for it!
Victoria’s biggest request: a romantic lift shot. And they NAILED IT! I mean, look at them!!!
Victoria and Isaac, I had an absolute blast with you two! Thank you so much for trusting me to try out a new location with you and being absolute troopers in the slippery, muddy aftermath of our recent rainstorms. Your eagerness and nothing-can-stop-us attitudes will, without a doubt, make for a strong and lasting love story. XOXO
