Having portraits together of you and your significant other should always be a priority, in my opinion. Mike told me at the start of this year that he wants to make a point to get more photos together. “Even if it’s just a quick selfie on our cellphones,” he said, “I want more photos of us.” When Nahal reached out to me about taking some wedding portraits on Mount Lemmon, she said that she and Bill were having a very small ceremony in their backyard. Though the pandemic may have limited the number of people they could celebrate with, it didn’t stop her from wanting photos of them all dressed up in their wedding attire to remember the feeling of marrying their best friend.
After spending just a few minutes with these two, I thought they had been married for years not days! Nahal was GLOWING with joy, so proud to call Bill her husband. She had quite the exciting month, too. She and Bill had their backyard wedding. Then, a week later, they had their portraits with me… on her BIRTHDAY! What a fun way to celebrate, right?
She and Bill were all dressed up in their wedding attire again. Nahal could not take her eyes off of her husband. Every time I took a portrait of just Bill alone, there was Nahal right behind me exclaiming how handsome he was. It was nothing short of adorable. Bill took his moment in the spotlight to look out at the mountains. Slowly gazing around. Looking for deer to hunt haha! These two were full of energy.
Nahal wanted to feel especially beautiful in her wedding portraits with Bill, so she made sure to have Renee (her Hair and Makeup artist on her wedding day), doll her up again for their session. I had never been to Mount Lemmon before so I was eager to see the views. What I didn’t expect was the huge drop in temperature! There was about a 20 degree difference from the bottom of the mountain! Just before it was time to start, we were taken by surprise when a huge blanket of clouds rolled in. Luckily the rain stayed far away for us. Even if it had rained, though, I don’t think that would have dampened either of their spirits (yep, pun intended lol).
*Insert swooning, high-pitched squeals of Nahal starring at Bill here*
Nahal’s bright and colorful homemade bouquet suit her bubbly and upbeat personality so well!
As we started to lose daylight and the wind picked up a bit, I grabbed one more epic portrait of the two of them.
Nahal and Bill, please don’t ever lose that unique spunk and energy you two have. It makes you both such a joy to be around! I hope you always stay smitten with each other.
