It feels like forever ago that I sat down with Erin and DJ at a local coffee shop here in Clarksville to talk with them about their wedding day. Erin was so sweet telling me she had all the confidence in me to photograph their big day. I LOVE photographing weddings. Hearing them talk about all the details, how DJ was crafting a lot of the decor himself… I was just so ready to fast-forward to November and see everything come to life! And their venue, the Wilma Rudolph Event Center, is an entirely blank canvas: a large open space full of possibilities. One whole wall of the building is covered in industrial garage-door style windows that look out onto Liberty Park. So as guests arrived and took their seats for the ceremony, they were able to look out and see all the pretty fall colors around the park. So pretty!
When I walked into Erin’s getting ready room she was so calm! The room was filled with clothes and snacks and makeup and curling irons… Everything you could think of! And Erin was as calm as could be getting her makeup done. BUT I think I jinxed the calm…. The photographer showed up and things got real, ya’ll! About an hour later we were standing outside of her room to go photograph her and her girls doing a celebratory toast and the butterflies hit her. It was so sweet! She was obviously so excited and it was the cutest thing ever seeing her realize her wedding day was finally here! <3
I was so happy Erin’s leather jacket was finished in time. She had been telling me that she wanted to integrate it into some of her photos for awhile. It looked great on her and definitely added in a bit of sassy-ness that fits her style perfectly!
And these bridesmaids dresses! The floral print was so fun and different! They all looked fantastic!
And the groomsmen? Sharply dressed and a handful of chaos!
The weather was beautiful and I’m so happy we got some pictures on the docks like Erin and DJ wanted. Couples portraits were at the top of their priority list… just like they should be! These are some of my favorite images of the entire day. They were able to have time to themselves, enjoy the moment, and get their first portraits taken together as HUSBAND AND WIFE!!!!
DJ and Erin, I am so happy for you two. I feel incredibly lucky to have met such a sweet, laid-back, fun couple to have as my first ever wedding clients. You have so much confidence in yourselves and each other and I can’t wait to see where life takes you both together.
And all of this beauty I got to photograph wouldn’t have been possible without these talented vendors!!!
