As a wedding photographer who is new to Tucson, I knew that my first year in business here (moving from Tennessee) would mainly be filled with being a secondary photographer. This means I would be working alongside other photographers at weddings that they were hired for. I am responsible for capturing images that they can’t be present for (because a person can’t be in two places at the same time! lol), photographing portraits from a different perspective, providing variety in their clients’ gallery through equipment choices, and tons of other things to assist them throughout the day! When Eva reached out to me about her couple’s wedding at the Hilton El Conquistador in Tucson, I was beyond excited to explore a new venue with her and meet another pro in the biz!
This bride and groom were super chill, even with the forecast of rain and huge clouds right around the corner. The Hilton El Conquistador had awesome spaces for both of them to get ready in. Oh, and tons of great portrait spots all around the property and surrounding golf course. I had a blast exploring this wedding venue with them. I’m eager to return to the Hilton El Conquistador and see how its spaces are transformed for another couple’s beautiful wedding day vision!
I was so surprised to see this brilliant blue color on the inside of the groom’s wedding band!
The red roses and blue accents throughout the decor made for a pretty yet bold feel.
These two requested this shot specifically! Kissing underneath her veil was playful yet romantic at the same time. They loved being able to kiss as official Husband and Wife!
Even though the Hilton El Conquistador is a golf course resort, there are plenty of cacti around to give that desert-like feel to portraits.
Believe it or not, this photo wasn’t even planned! The flower girls started gathering up the rose petals and wanted to throw them. They were so excited to shower the bride with beautiful flowers. And look how fun it turned out!
The front lawn area of the resort did not disappoint!
It was starting to get dark, but we wanted to go explore this area of the resort while we still had a few minutes of light left! The pond. Those huge mountains. Such a perfect way to end portrait time before heading into the reception to party with friends and family.
Oh, and this was first time seeing The Shoe Game in action! It was so funny to see how the bride and groom would answer the questions. But the reaction of their guests was priceless!
