I am so thrilled that I was able to make the trip home to Tennessee to celebrate with Danielle and Jeff as they got married at Freedom Point in Clarksville. Initially, they were supposed to get married over Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic forced them into rescheduling their special day. Even though plans had changed a bit, their wedding day was still a beautiful celebration of these two finding each other.
Danielle quickly became one of my best friends after we started working together several years ago. She is full of personality and spunk, crazy smart, a wonderful mom, and a caring friend. I remember that she kept talking about her son’s Boy Scouts meetings a little more than she normally did. And why was that? Because she met someone, of course! Jeff and Danielle’s sons were in the same troop and had started working on projects together. That meant that their parents were spending more time together, too. What started off as two parents supporting their children’s after-school activities quickly became a new budding relationship. I was so happy to see Danielle come into work and light up as she told me about this new man in her life.
Danielle tells their story the best! : “I had probably one of the worst weeks of my life. Jeff kept telling me to focus on the upcoming weekend because he knew it would be a great one. The idea crossed my mind that he would propose, but with the week being so bad, I didn’t think about it too much. We had a weekend planned to go to Cumberland Falls in Kentucky on Memorial Day weekend. We had an amazing day of hiking, swimming, and we went kayaking for the first time.
On the way back from our hike, we stopped on a rock overlooking the waterfall and other beautiful scenery. That was the place we had lunch earlier that day. We sat there talking, hugging, and giving each other kisses. He then was trying to get me to stand up, which I did not want to do. Poor Jeff was trying to get down on one knee but because of stubborn me we were both on our knees. He said some incredibly sweet things and then asked me to marry him!! It was an amazing day. We took some pictures of us being sweaty and wet from swimming in ice cold water. As soon as the two of us starting hiking back towards the car I tripped and fell, making that moment even more memorable. It was an amazing day!!”
As you can tell from their proposal story, Danielle and Jeff love spending time outdoors together. The Freedom Point wedding venue in Clarksville was a perfect fit for them! It has a natural and somewhat rustic feel with natural stone all around the venue and a beautiful view of the river.
Danielle and her bridesmaids got ready for the day at her house. As I walked up to the door, all I could hear was chatting and laughter from all of them– filled with excitement for the day’s events.
Danielle looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress. Oh, and did I mention that it has POCKETS?! I made sure that Danielle showed them off for me. She couldn’t help but smile ear-to-ear as she twirled around in the dress that she had been waiting so long to wear and show Jeff.
I just love the color teal. It’s Danielle’s favorite color so she wanted to feature it on her wedding day!
Two families who are about to become one.
Woohoo! Who’s ready to celebrate?!
After their intimate ceremony overlooking the water, I made sure to grab Danielle and Jeff’s first photos as Husband and Wife. Then it was off to the reception: the part of the day that Danielle was the most excited about– other than saying “I Do” 😉 This girl LOVES to sing and dance. It makes her come alive and let go of everything else on her mind. She and her childhood best friend Missy made sure that they tore up the dance floor!
It’s time to head on over to the par-tay!
Danielle “warned me” that she was probably going to be making crazy faces in every single reception photo because of how excited she was to dance on her wedding day. I think her expressions are less “crazy” and more “joyful.” I mean, look at her!
Later on in the evening when it came to cake-cutting time, I knew that one or both of them was not going to play nice…
Get ready, girls! Here comes the bouquet!
Missy and Danielle made sure everyone was dancing and having an awesome time.
I have to say: Danielle and Jeff, no one deserves this perfect day more than the two of you. I’m beyond happy that, despite the chaos going on in the world right now, I got to be there to witness the beginning of your next big adventure together. I hope this new beginning together and the joining of your sweet families grows stronger with each and every day. Cheers to many more decades of love and happiness!
