Over the past few weeks, Arizona has been opening up more and pandemic limitations are slowly fading. Since these recent changes, I have been hearing from so many couples that are beyond excited to FINALLY get married! They’re now feeling safe and confident in making plans with their closest friends and family to celebrate. I’ve seen a huge shift in weddings throughout this last year. The focus has been less about all the intricate details (even though I still drool over all the pretty things!) and more about the union itself. When I asked Georgiana what was most important to her for her wedding in Hereford, she said, “Us together. Finally and forever.”
Georgiana has such a quiet, sweet disposition. She and I had only exchanged emails for about two weeks before her wedding day. I popped in the room where she was getting ready to say hi and finally meet face-to-face. Despite the chaos of a full house of family and guests, Georgiana appeared to be as calm as ever– worried more about taking care of her fur babies than herself. I went back outside to the ceremony site, ready to see her walk down the aisle in her wedding dress!
I got the chance to chat with Elric for a few minutes before the ceremony started. I could tell he was a tiny bit nervous, hanging out in the shaded driveway with his friends. He introduced me to his brother who became officiated just for their wedding in Hereford. Elric also told me about a surprise he had planned for Georgie (his nickname of Georgiana) at the reception later. He and two friends were going to perform a song for her. He said he was singing because he “wasn’t talented” like his friends. I told him that he MUST have talent of his own to sing in front of a group of people! I so wish I could’ve been there to hear him and see the look of surprise and love on Georgiana’s face as he sang to her.
Georgiana and Elric hosted their wedding in the backyard of their home in Hereford, AZ. We’re still waiting for most of our trees and shrubs to come back to life here in southern Arizona. No matter what the season, however, the mountains right by their home are still breathtaking!
Such a sweet moment of Georgiana’s mom tearing up during the ceremony.
It’s official! Mr. and Mrs. Mahoney!
Now time for my favorite part of the day: their first photos together as HUSBAND AND WIFE! P.S.- Georgiana drove all the way to Phoenix for her wedding florals!
I love that we were able to find a place right in their backyard that provided such an amazing backdrop for their portraits together. Those hazy mountains give such a romantic vibe, don’t they?
Georgiana and Elric, thank you so much for sharing your day with me. I loved having just a quick peek into your sweet at-home celebration.
Check out another wedding elopement in Sierra Vista that I documented earlier this year!
